The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS)  oversees the coordination and delivery of services to more than 330,000 individuals who have cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, autism, epilepsy and related conditions through a network of 21 regional centers and state-operated facilities.

The Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, Inc. (COPAA) is an independent, nonprofit organization of attorneys, advocates, parents and related professionals. There are 7 million children with disabilities in America1. COPAA members work to protect the legal and civil rights of and secure excellence in education on behalf of tens of thousands of students with disabilities and their families each year at the national, state and local levels.

Disability Rights California (DRC) is the agency designated under federal law to protect and advocate for the rights of Californians with disabilities. DRC has worked to advance the rights of Californians with disabilities in education, employment, independence, health, and safety, and has grown into the largest disability rights organization in the nation.

We do this through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.
